Mission Statement of STOCKTON BEARS YOUTH FOOTBALL & CHEER TEAMS, INC.
The focus of the Bears program is to teach the fundamentals of youth football and cheer leading in a safe environment while emphasizing the importance of physical fitness, discipline, and positive self-esteem. Each adult affiliated with the Bears is offered an exceptional opportunity to share in the shaping of the youths involved. Adults so affiliated must teach that hard work develops respect for discipline. Self-discipline taught properly by a coach can be a major factor in turning a youth’s life from self-indulgence to meaningful self-respect, as well as respect for others and the law.
America’s future lies in her youth. As participants develop though their participation in the Bears program, the lessons of teamwork, dedication, and discipline can be applied to their lives and compliment expectation of the home, church, and school. These fundamentals when applied, teach that it’s cool to get good grades, eat a proper diet, be a good sport, and to stay away from drugs, alcohol, and gangs.
All of this takes place in the framework of the Bears, while engaging the participants to develop a sense of pride in their community. Knowledgeable and dedicated coaching personnel, adequate equipment, and medical precautions are combined to establish a sound football and cheer program. Building the proper foundation is half the battle in developing a good football player and/or cheerleader. The Bears accomplishes its goal by properly preparing participants for the high school teacher and coach. Ideal graduates from the football program can block and tackle, have a good attitude, and are willing to work hard physically as well as scholastically. Ideal graduates from the cheer leading program can cheer, jump, will have a basic knowledge and foundation of stunting, have a good attitude, and are willing to work hard physically as well as scholastically.
We are looking forward to a great 2013 Stockton Bears Youth Football & Cheer Season!!
